Meet the leadership team at Apple Inc, one of the largest tech brands in the world founded by Steve Jobs and currently led by CEO Tim Cook. Tim Cook is the CEO of Apple and also serves on its board of directors. He was Apple’s Chief Operating Officer before becoming its CEO in 2011. In his career, Tim Cook has also worked for Compaq and IBM. Tim earned an MBA from Duke University, where he was a Fuqua Scholar, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University. Tim Cook’s compensation in 2023 remained $63.2 million compared to $99.4 million in 2022 and $98.7 million in 2021. While his base salary remains $3 million, he was awarded stocks worth approximately $47 million in 2023 compared to approximately $83 million in the prior year. His 2023 compensation also included $10.7 million in non-equity incentive compared to $12 million in the prior year. Tim also received $2.53 million in other compensation in 2023.

Katherine Adams is Apple’s general counsel and senior vice president of Legal and Global Security. She reports to CEO Tim Cook. Katherine oversees all legal matters, including corporate governance, intellectual property, litigation and securities compliance, global security and privacy. Before she joined Apple in 2017, Kate worked for Honeywell. Kate earned a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature from Brown University and a law degree from the University of Chicago Law School. In 2023, Kate Adams received a total compensation of $26.94 million compared to $27.14 million in the prior year. Her base salary is $1 million and she received stock awards worth $22.3 million in 2023 compared to $22.13 million in the prior year. She also received $3.6 million as non-equity incentive in 2023 compared to $4 million in the prior year. All other compensation that Kate received in 2023 was $41K.

Eddy Cue is senior Vice president of services at Apple. He reports to CEO Tim Cook. Eddy oversees the full range of Apple’s services, including Apple Music, Apple News, Apple Podcasts, the Apple TV app, and Apple TV+, as well as Apple Pay, Apple Card, Maps, Search Ads, Apple’s iCloud services, and Apple’s productivity and creativity apps. Eddy joined Apple in 1989 and played a key role in the creation of the Apple online store in 1998, the iTunes Store in 2003, and the App Store in 2008. Eddy earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Economics from Duke University.

John Giannandrea joined Apple in 2018. He oversees the strategy for artificial intelligence and machine learning across the company and development of Core ML and Siri technologies. Before joning Apple, John has worked for Google for eight years leading Machine intelligence and search teams. John graduated from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland where he earned a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Computer Science, and was awarded a Doctorate Honoris Causa.

Greg has more than 30 years of marketing and management experience at Apple. He had joined the company in June 1986 when he worked on the early Macintosh computers. He has played a pivotal role in the development and launch of some of Apple’s celebrity products including the original iPod and iPhone. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1986.

Craig oversees the development of iOS and macOS at Apple and reports to CEO Tim Cook. He has also worked at NeXT and spent a decade working for Ariba as Chief Technology officer. Craig returned to Apple in 2009 to lead MacOS engineering and in 2012 took on the responsibility of iOS as well. Craig holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley

Apple’s senior vice president of operations, Sabih Khan reports to COO Jeff Williams. Sabih is in charge of Apple’s global supply chain, ensuring product quality and overseeing planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and product fulfillment functions, and Apple’s supplier responsibility program. Sabih joined Apple in 1995 and prior to joining Apple, he worked for GE Plastics. He earned bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University and a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Apple’s Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams reports to CEO Tim Cook. He oversees Apple’s global operations as well as customer service and support. Jeff leads Apple’s design team as well as software and hardware engineering for Apple Watch. He also played a key role in the entry of Apple into the smartphone market with the first iPhone. Prior to Apple, Jeff worked for the IBM Corporation from 1985 to 1998 in many operations and engineering roles. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and an MBA from Duke University. Jeff received $26.96 million as total compensation in 2023 compared to $27.15 million in the prior year. His base salary in $1 million and he was awarded stocks worth $22.32 million in 2023.

Apple’s senior Vice President and CFO Luca Maestri, reports to CEO Tim Cook. Luca oversees the accounting, business support, financial planning and analysis, treasury, real estate, investor relations, internal audit and tax functions at Apple. He joined Apple in 2013. Luca has worked for General Motors for two decades. He graduated from Luiss University in Rome with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and earned a master’s degree in Science of Management from Boston University. Luca Maestri received total $26.94 million compensation in 2023 compared to $27.15 million in the prior year. His base salary is $1 million and he received stock awards worth $22.3 million in 2023 compared to $22.13 million in the prior year.

Apple’s senior vice president of retail, Deirdre O’Brien reports to CEO Tim Cook. She has been with Apple for more than 30 years. She was a part of the team that launched Apple’s very first retail store in 2001. Deirdre holds a bachelor’s degree in Operations Management from Michigan State University and an MBA from San Jose State University. O’Brien received $26.94 million as total compensation in 2023 compared to $27.15 million in the prior year. Her base salary is $1 million and she received stock awards worth $22.32 million in 2023.

Apple’s senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering John Ternus, reports to CEO Tim Cook. John leads all hardware engineering, including the teams behind iPhone, iPad, Mac, AirPods, and more. He joined Apple in 2001 as a part of its design team. John has remained a vice president of Hardware engineering since 2013. John worked as a mechanical engineer at Virtual Research Systems before he joined Apple. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

The senior Vice president of Hardware technologies at Apple Inc Johny Srouji reports to CEO Tim Cook. Johny and his team of silicon and technology engineers oversee breakthrough custom silicon and hardware technologies including batteries, application processors, storage controllers, sensors silicon, display silicon and other chipsets across Apple’s entire product line. Johny has held senior positions at Apple and IBM before he joined Apple. He earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Computer Science from Technion, Israel’s Institute of Technology.

Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide sales Mike Fenger, reports to CEO Tim Cook. He oversees global product sales for Apple. Mike joined Apple in 2008 and has more than two decades of experience in building and leading sales teams for global companies. He has worked for General Electric and Motorola in senior positions before he joined Apple. Mike is a graduate of Miami University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Apple’s vice president of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives, Lisa Jackson reports to CEO Tim Cook. She oversees Apple’s environmental efforts and social initiatives such as $100 million Racial Equity and Justice Initiative. From 2009 to 2013, Lisa served as Administrator of the US Environmental Protection Agency. Lisa holds a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University and a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University.

Apple’s Vice President and managing director of Greater China, Isabel Ge Mahe reports to CEO Tim Cook and COO Jeff Williams. She leads and coordinates Apple’s China based team. Isabel joined Apple in 2008 and served as vice president of Wireless Software Engineering at Palm before joining Apple. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Engineering from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.

Apple’s Vice President of Corporate Development, Adrian Perica reports to CEO Tim Cook. Adrian is responsible for Apple’s mergers and acquisitions as well as strategic investments. He joined Apple in 2009 before which he worked for Goldman Sachs for 8 years and for Deloiitte Consulting before that. He was an US army officer before starting his carerr in the private sector. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the United States Military Academy at West Point and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Apple’s vice president of Worldwide communications, Kristin Huguet Quayle reports to CEO Tim Cook. She is responsible for Apple’s global communications strategy and leads Apple’s public relations and employee communications. She joined Apple in 2005, before which she worked at Sun Microsystems and Burson-Marsteller. Kristin holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and political science from Furman University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

Apple’s Vice President of Marketing Communications, Tor Myhren reports to CEO Tim Cook. He joined Apple in 2016, before which he worked at Grey, where he was president and worldwide chief creative officer. He leads the company’s marketing communications group which focuses on Apple’s advertising, internet presence, package design and other consumer-facing marketing. Tor is a former journalist and award-winning documentary filmmaker. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Occidental College.

Phil Schiller is an Apple fellow who leads the App store and Apple Events. Phil has guided Apple’s products and marketing for 30 years. Most recently, he was the senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Boston College in 1982.

Apple’s Chief People Officer, carol Surface reports to CEO Tim Cook. She is the leader of Apple’s people team that is responsible for the company’s global HR management, from recruitment to talent development, employee relations, benefits, and compensation as well as inclusion and diversity. She joined Apple in 2023 before which she worked at Medtronic. Carol earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Castleton University, and a doctorate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Central Michigan University.
